  i found the meetings to be especially boring from the late 1980s on.

  before that, we actually tried to make people want to listen.

  the meetings were pretty interesting.

  recentley i read ray franz book " christian freedom" and it occurd to me if he had lost his faith and become athiest the society would have delighted in that.

  i think had ray turned athiest it would have been more easily " justified" in the mags what a " evil man he was" ....but maintaining his faith left the possibillity the society could be wrong.. .

  i am athiest but i kept this to myself when i left... any comments?.

  this claim is taken verbatim from christian fundamentalists.

  i recently got a letter in my pillar box asking me to attend a meeting at the k.h.

  i ignored the " kind" request.. this was folloed up by a " loving" phone call with the question " do i believe in the organisation" my reply.

  " anyway what pissed me off was during the " loving" phone call i realized there was another " brother" listning in.

  Why Is Alcoholism Deeply Embeded In JW Culture?

  we get plenty of company men passing through our circuit, often filled with misinformation and lugging around a suitcase of guilt, they bring more guilt to the weak while praising the braggart pioneers and slapping the "righteous over much" elders.

  why are the wrong people getting praise in this distorted community?

  i know for a fact many of the elders i served with have issues with alcoholism, when "brother guilt" brought his emotional hurricane through our circuit, i had the chance to eat and help pay for his "seven shots of tequila", both him and his wife were not immune to over-indulgences.

  Nathan Natas you wrote about these bullies " ......you might scare the squirt out of him......." and your post gave me smiles and laughter...but the problem ia a J.W can dish it out but they cant take it...so when speaking with a witness the conversation is ALWAYS .." Surrender yourself to men , WHO in faith we allow in our real life power to whom we know actually next to nothing...

  Bob...thanks for your kind reply....i think we both see the failure of there " PLESASE" follow us ..we are no longer in this small and aecethectically insignificent film...for we have found moments that transcend that image of truth. ....blah blah ..we were controlled by words...so silly....Why? because that is all these people have ....words.

  that was my point when i started this thread....i realised without words there phone call was powerless...indidnt give them words.
